Overview

The Contracts & Capital Procurement Manager is responsible for negotiating contracts with suppliers, overseeing their execution, managing supplier relationships, and implementing strategies for contract and capital procurement related to Clinical / Non-Clinical products, software, and services. The role involves tracking and monitoring procurement contracts, collaborating with legal, finance, and other departments to identify cost-saving opportunities, technological advancements, and supply chain efficiencies.

Essential Duties

1. Manage the capital procurement process including vendor selection, bidding, pricing negotiations, and contract finalization.

2. Coordinate contract reviews with third-party reviewers and GPO, ensuring compliance with USC terms and conditions.

3. Verify and update contracts, ensuring pricing integrity and adherence to contractual terms.

4. Manage the bid process for non-contract requests, including RFP generation, bid evaluation, and contract finalization.

5. Coordinate equipment delivery, asset tagging, and integration with clinical engineering.

6. Collaborate with departments, physicians, and vendors to determine specifications and implementation needs.

7. Work with finance to ensure proper accounting and depreciation of equipment, maintaining relevant databases and documentation.

8. Identify and implement cost-saving measures, aiming for savings at least equal to the annual salary.

9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least 5 years of progressive hospital Materials Management experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of medical equipment, supplies, and contracting / bidding processes.
  • Ability to work effectively with physicians, managers, and vendors in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective in contract compliance, budget analysis, and operational systems including purchasing and inventory control.
  • Proficient with hospital and university systems; fluent in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a Materials and Resource Manager (preferred).
  • Licenses / Certifications

  • Fire Life Safety Training (LA City); must be obtained within 30 days of hire if not already held.
  • The annual salary range is $95,680 - $158,230, based on experience and qualifications.
