Field Service Manager Peru at FLSmidth. The role requires an agile, forward-thinking leader who can make bold, informed operational decisions in the field to ensure service continuity, safety, and commercial opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Deliver value-added service execution, contributing to the increase of Operating Income (OI) and Revenue for the Andean region.
- Lead field operations aligned with global and regional strategies, ensuring customer commitments are met efficiently and safely.
- Act as a regional technical leader, driving performance, mentorship, and continuous improvement within the Field Service Engineer (FSE) team.
- Strengthen customer relationships and generate upselling opportunities through technical acumen and collaboration with sales.
- Make difficult decisions balancing technical constraints, customer demands, and commercial impact.
- Identify upselling opportunities during field interactions and convert service events into revenue-generating moments.
- Lead by example to foster collaboration, accountability, and performance excellence across multidisciplinary teams.
- Link day-to-day field operations with broader business and sales goals, contributing to the commercial pipeline and account strategies.
- Inspire teams with a strong presence and energy, creating purpose and urgency.
- Own reporting and presentation of KPI performance to regional and global leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Ensure the team operates at a world-class standard, aligned with FLS’s commitment to innovation, safety, and value creation for the customer.
- Provide ongoing feedback from the field to influence product improvements and process efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic and Operational Management : Ensure service excellence, safety (TRIF), utilization, and regional profitability KPIs.Align with regional and global strategies to ensure effective field coverage and customer satisfaction.Manage the execution of technical field services, coordinating schedules, priorities, and resources.Commercial Contribution & Sales Support
Generate and track new service leads in CRM.Collaborate with Key Account Managers and Site Account Managers to identify new commercial opportunities.Contribute to increasing regional revenue and operating income through proactive service planning and execution.Promote FLS solutions during service events to develop strategic service sales.Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of FSEs with a high-performance mindset.Promote cross-training, certification, and specialization in key areas.Oversee resource planning and headcount management.Operational Decision-Making & Field Support
Make real-time operational decisions on-site, prioritizing safety, customer satisfaction, and efficiency.Support in technical analysis, problem solving, and incident resolution.Deliver technical feedback to improve product and process reliability.Reporting & KPI Monitoring
Own key metrics : TRIF (safety), OI and Revenue, number of leads in CRM, monthly visit frequency, utilization and absorption, cost area, head count.Qualifications & Experience
Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Metallurgical, or Chemical Civil Engineering).Minimum 12 years’ experience in mining, field services, or industrial operations.Proven leadership experience managing large, complex teams in high-performance environments.Strong strategic thinking and commercial mindset.Proven track record in improving service revenue and profitability (OI).Excellent planning, resource allocation, and project management skills.Experience in technical sales, field operations, and customer engagement.Proficiency in ERP systems and CRM tools.Advanced English (spoken and written) – Required.Willingness to travel across the region.Soft Skills & Leadership Traits
