DUTIES

  • Assist Veterinarians in medical or surgical treatment of animals at city shelters or clinics.
  • Perform euthanasia-by-injection and immunizations under veterinarian supervision.
  • Administer emergency medical treatment to injured animals.
  • Work at shelters across the city, with possible day or night shifts.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certificate issued by the California Veterinary Medical Board.
  • Applicants must submit proof of RVT certification within 7 days of application submission.

    • SALARY

    $75,627 to $110,580 annually, with higher pay for night shifts and certain assignments. Salary at the start of the pay range; subject to change. Confirm current salary with the hiring department.
