- Requirements include 7+ years as a Controller in Commercial Real Estate
- Commercial Real Estate, Construction, or Property Management experience required
- Yardi experience, CAM reconciliations, leadership (internal and external partner)
- Budget prep, cash flow forecasts, property-level financials
Base pay range
$150,000.00 / yr - $170,000.00 / yr
Responsibilities
Lead all accounting operations for a real estate portfolio, including accounts payable / receivable, bank reconciliations, capital contributions / distributions, equity tracking, and allocation of income and expenses across multiple properties and entities.Oversee construction and development accounting, including budget tracking, job cost allocations, reserve / holdback drawdowns, and coordination with project managers on financial reporting and compliance.Manage property-level financials, including CAM reconciliations, insurance and tax payments, loan servicing, and intercompany transactions for commercial and residential assets.Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements, cash flow forecasts, and property performance reports to support ownership, asset managers, and lenders.Direct the preparation of annual operating budgets for properties and entities, ensuring accuracy, timeline compliance, and alignment with ownership goals.Collaborate with ownership and executive teams to assess financial risks and opportunities within the real estate portfolio and recommend process improvements.Supervise and develop the accounting team, assign duties, evaluating performance, and providing training to ensure consistent execution of real estate and property-specific tasks.Coordinate with external parties, including CPAs, banks, tax preparers, and insurance providers, to ensure regulatory compliance and timely delivery of financial data.Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance frameworks tailored to real estate, construction, and property management operations.Seniority level
