Business Immigration Consultant (Experienced Paralegal) at Fragomen
Overview
Fragomen’s Business Immigration Consultant position provides the opportunity to make an immediate impact with training, development, and long‑term growth opportunities. Responsibilities
- Perform substantive, client‑facing work beyond typical paralegal tasks in a law firm setting, including varied case-related duties in employment‑based immigration matters.
- Independently handle tasks related to case preparation and filing of petitions with government agencies, including document gathering, review, case analysis, and drafting.
- Oversee case status using case management and billing systems, run reports as needed, and assist with case reviews.
- Conduct client intake, troubleshoot issues, establish case strategy, and recommend solutions and process improvements.
- Generate clear, well‑organized written work product applying immigration knowledge and problem‑solving skills.
- Proactively communicate with foreign nationals and client contacts, providing clear and prompt responses regarding case status and inquiries.
- Meet deadlines per Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and communicate case progress, escalations, and status to supervisor.
- Assist in hiring and training new team members and identify ways to improve team productivity and office projects.
- Recognize policy changes that may impact work and collaborate with leadership to incorporate changes into processes.
- Be fluent with case management and other reporting tools used to manage data and information.
- Contribute to team and individual productivity goals and follow firm standards and policies to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory, operational, and client compliance (e.g., data privacy, using Connect in line with protocols).
- Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset to enhance quality, efficiency, and standardization of processes, products, or services.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or Paralegal certificate plus 4 years of business immigration experienceBachelor’s degree plus 3 years of business immigration experienceStrong knowledge of procedural requirements for various nonimmigrant and immigrant visas and client processesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and drafting fluent prose without reliance on AI enginesExperience using MS Word, Excel, and other computer systemsDesire to contribute to a positive work environment, effective collaboration, and teamworkBenefits

The salary range reflects factors including skills, experience, qualifications, location, work arrangement, licensure, and applicable laws. For hybrid roles in the local office, the estimated range is $75,000.00 - $86,000.00 . You may be eligible for benefits, 401K, and paid time off plans. All offers are contingent upon successful completion of pre‑employment screening including identity verification, work authorization, and a comprehensive background check where permitted by local regulations.
