Overview
The Contracts Manager is responsible for contract review and management for Clinical and Non-Clinical products, software, and services. This includes drafting, analyzing, negotiating, advising on, and executing contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other service providers. The role involves collaboration with Leadership, the Supply Chain Team (Materials Management, Sourcing, Contracting, Purchasing), and other departments such as Office of General Counsel, IT / IS, Construction / Facilities, Insurance, and Compliance. The Contracts Manager develops relationships, seeks input, and provides expert advice on risk, liability, and exposure related to contracts. The mission of the Supply Chain Department is to ensure procurement policies and activities promote compliance, customer satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness.
Essential Duties
- Draft, negotiate, and execute contracts with suppliers, vendors, and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with procurement regulations, including local and federal laws, policies, and regulations.
- Maintain and update the contract management system, including templates, tracking, and reporting.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.
- Manage contract renewal processes and negotiate new contracts as needed.
- Monitor contract performance and address issues proactively.
- Support the procurement team in sourcing and contract negotiations.
- Work with legal counsel to ensure contracts are compliant, mitigate risks, and resolve disputes.
- Evaluate and improve contracting processes for cost savings and efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field.At least 4 years of experience in Contract Management.Strong knowledge of procurement agreements, drafting, redlining, and contract execution.Excellent negotiation skills and ability to collaborate effectively.Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects independently.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external partners.Knowledge of healthcare-related contract issues such as liability, indemnification, insurance, and SLAs.Understanding of industry trends and issues.Ability to interact effectively with internal leaders and vendors.Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Business Administration.J.D. or Paralegal certification.Experience in large-scale health systems or IDNs.Experience with DocuSign or similar e-signature platforms.Experience working with Medline and Vizient partners.Comfort reporting to and interacting with senior administrators.Licenses / Certifications
Fire Life Safety Training (LA City). If not obtained upon hire, must be acquired within 30 days and maintained through renewal.The annual salary range is $95,680 - $158,230, considering various factors such as experience, education, skills, and organizational considerations.
