The Office of the Executive Auditor (AUG) has a Mission to increase the likelihood of the IDB Group achieving its goals and objectives through independent and objective assurance and consulting services on governance, risk management, and control processes, in accordance with ethical and relevant professional standards, and improvements to the organization’s accountability and transparency for results.
The AUG Strategy and Risk Based Annual Plans (RBAP) include a variety of demands that are incorporated in audit engagements as well as cross-cutting departmental initiatives. AUG is looking for a skilled, analytical, and proactive audit consultant to support the delivery of the RBAPs. You will perform audit-related work in accordance with audit standards and AUG procedures, contributing to individual audit engagements covering governance and controls, operations with sovereign and non-sovereign guarantees, information technology resources, as well as IT governance, corporate, administration and risk management matters. You will work with a motivated, fast-paced, innovative and high-quality team in AUG together with the rest of the IDB Group, promoting good governance and management of emerging and transformational solutions. The consultant will work closely with AUG Management, Lead Auditors and audit teams to identify relevant risk and controls, perform research, analysis, testing and produce documentation as part of audit work programs, and contribute to the engagement outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Perform audit-related work in country offices including IT general and application controls, in accordance with audit standards and AUG procedures, for specific engagements.
- Support the periodic risk assessment of the dimensions, segments and processes of the audit universe, as well as the risk assessment, planning, fieldwork, reporting and follow up of individual audit engagements, including analysis of governance and control environment, operations, financial, human capital and information technology resources, and IT governance, corporate, administration and risk management matters.
- Develop data analytics objectives and procedures for the assigned engagements; support data collection, validation, normalization, analysis, reporting and documentation of results.
- Conduct research and technical analysis of information to support audit teams with technical audit work within established timelines.
- Apply technical concepts, methodologies, tools, and techniques to assist audit teams on operational activities of the IDB Group at Country Offices to appraise the effectiveness and adequacy of processes, management systems, controls and compliance with norms and procedures.
- Participate in drafting planning documents, including work programs and audit reports, and participate in client interviews, risk assessments, and testing of controls.
- Support AUG staff on specific matters related to engagements, sharing internal knowledge and practices with AUG staff.
- Coordinate work with others within and beyond AUG as required to meet business objectives.
What you\'ll need
Education : Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, management information systems, or related fields such as program development, monitoring, or business analysis; software engineering and computing science are relevant. Professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, CRISC, or CPA, or experience in data analytics and operations are a plus.Experience : At least 2 years of progressive professional experience in relevant areas within international financial institutions, multilateral development banks, or external audit. Experience in data analytics, continuous auditing, artificial intelligence, or similar techniques to enhance internal auditing is a strong asset. Experience in integrated audits covering business processes, technology and data; risk management and audit responsibilities; and working in an IDB Group country office or other MDBs, especially in operations with and without sovereign guarantees. Languages : Spanish and English proficiency required; knowledge of French and Portuguese is a plus.Requirements
