Overview
Our client, a global leader in combination drug delivery products , is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join their growing team. This role plays a critical part in supporting manufacturing operations through detailed financial analysis and strategic cost management. The Senior Cost Accountant will evaluate manufacturing processes, identify cost drivers, and provide actionable insights to enhance efficiency, profitability, and financial performance.
Base pay range
$60.00 / hr - $65.00 / hr
Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing cost variances (PPV, labor / overhead absorption, inventory valuation) and identify root causes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate cost data.
- Lead product costing efforts for new and existing products; develop standard costs and burden rates.
- Prepare reports comparing standard vs. actual production costs; provide profitability analysis.
- Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance reviews.
- Conduct inventory analysis for excess, obsolete, and at-risk materials; support cash liquidity improvements through optimized inventory management.
- Support inventory reserve policy development and perform monthly reserve analysis.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support decision-making.
- Participate in quarterly cycle counts; analyze discrepancies and recommend process improvements.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and internal cost audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Support annual financial audits related to inventory and standard costs.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA / CMA preferred).5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory management, GAAP, and financial reporting.Proficiency with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred) and advanced Excel.Demonstrated experience with standard costing, variance analysis, and budgeting.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Excellent communication and collaboration skills across functions.Please submit your resume in Word or PDF format to be considered.
