Responsibilities
- Lead advocacy of Mace’s value of safety first, and be accountable for maintaining exceptional safety, quality, cost, schedule, sustainability and project compliance standards.
- Possess advanced technical expertise in local health and safety rules and regulations relevant to the project portfolio.
- Champion a diverse and inclusive working environment and understand the importance of the wellbeing of the people you manage.
- Be accountable for the PMO and Project Controls Services performance on assigned commissions.
- Create and design effective PMO and Project Controls framework / strategies.
- Manage and direct clients, consultants, contractors and project team on all PMO and Project Controls management matters.
- Act as the trusted advisor and build strong professional relationships with client organizations.
- Serve as the PMO and Project Controls Subject Matter Expert on assigned projects, programs and portfolios.
- Lead and direct the Project team in the administration of the PMO and Project Controls process, particularly with respect to cost, schedule, change, risk and reporting to achieve key objectives and escalation of performance and management issues.
- Lead and direct periodic reporting and structured governance and performance meetings.
- Lead and direct the development and management of the Baseline (scope, time, cost, risk, assumptions) and subsequent delivery performance, change and contingency monitoring including delivery of Quantitative Risk Analysis (cost and time).
- Ensure all activities / operations are carried out in line with Mace Control Centre, client requirements and prevailing legislation.
- Provide line management to junior PMO and Project Controls resources and other Project / Program staff as required.
- Mentor and assist the personal and career development of junior members of the PMO and Project Control team.
- Innovate and align with industry best practice to ensure continued service excellence.
- Lead the delivery of a high performing PMO and Project Control team on the assigned commission.
- Support the Hub PMO and Project Control Director with resourcing and recruitment for the assigned commission.
- Collaborate towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during delivery.
- Ensure project budgets are fiscally and ethically viable, meet organizational and legislative compliance obligations, and support operations directors and senior stakeholders in influencing long‑term strategy for the function or business unit.

- Network, innovate, and seek best practice, utilizing the full depth of knowledge of the Mace group, centers of excellence, Mace way control centre and knowledge hub.
- Collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders, up to C‑Suite, to implement and manage our programs.
Qualifications
Significant experience as a PMO Manager / Leader within a large PMO.Effective PMO and Project Controls leadership on significant construction projects and within management consultancies.Strong knowledge and connectivity to the construction markets to leverage best practices and provide opportunities for innovation and success.Significant experience of setting up effective PMO and Project Controls management / assurance frameworks / strategies.Expert knowledge of PMO and Project Controls tools, techniques and software.Practical knowledge / application and understanding of opportunities related to data analytics and intelligent reporting, Power BI and other reporting suite tools.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with key stakeholders and senior leadership.Effective appraisal / analytical skills to support skilled negotiations, problem solving or conflict resolution.Growth mindset that promotes curiosity, high quality contribution and team collaboration, sharing of best practice and lessons learned between teams.Ability to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome.Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.Strong commercial and financial acumen.Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.Experience managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects.Additional Information
