Dr. Rissman's lab is seeking a Research Lab Tech II to join its team. The laboratory is internationally recognized for research in Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, and other neurodegenerative disorders. The lab focuses on developing blood-brain barrier / NVU cell-specific biomarkers and offers biomarker core services supporting USC ADRC and related programs. Advanced imaging, cellular, and molecular techniques are utilized for studying brain vascular and neuronal functions.

Responsibilities include :

• Experience with ELISA or similar biochemical assays, and molecular techniques such as PCR, genotyping, and Sanger sequencing.
• Maintaining accurate records, coordinating biofluid sample shipments, managing inventory, data analysis, and adhering to safety protocols.
• Supporting experiments under supervision, supporting the biomarker core.
• Demonstrating good communication and organizational skills.

The role involves providing general laboratory support, conducting experiments per safety protocols, handling non-routine assignments, and analyzing research data.

The hourly rate ranges from $25.00 to $28.12. USC considers various factors when extending employment offers, including experience, education, skills, and organizational needs.

This is an entry-level, full-time position in research, analytics, and IT within the higher education industry.
