VP FP&A

THE OPPORTUNITY :

Our client is an entertainment company with a robust gaming division. As they continue to scale and invest in growth, they are seeking a VP of FP&A to lead financial planning and analysis across their games division.

This highly visible leadership role will serve as a strategic finance partner to the CFO and executive leadership team. The VP of FP&A will oversee all aspects of forecasting, budgeting, long-term planning, and decision support for a broad portfolio of titles in development and post-launch.

VP FP&A RESPONSIBILITIES :

Lead the FP&A function for the games division, managing all financial forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and long-term strategic planning efforts.
Partner with production, publishing, and executive teams to support financial analysis and scenario modeling across their portfolio of titles.
Build and maintain detailed models for game production costs, amortization schedules, and revenue forecasts.
Develop and oversee cash flow projections tied to game investments, milestone payments, and delivery schedules.
Provide financial insight and support for capital planning, portfolio performance reviews, and content investment decisions.
Prepare executive-level reporting packages, dashboards, and presentations to communicate key trends and financial outcomes.
Collaborate with accounting on project cost tracking, capitalization policies, and close activities.
Drive process improvements and evaluate FP&A systems to support data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
Lead ad hoc analysis and business case modeling in support of strategic initiatives.
Monitor KPIs and title performance metrics to improve forecasting accuracy and support data-driven decision making.

REQUIREMENTS :

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA is preferred.

12 to 15+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.

5+ years of experience partnering with business leaders across production, operations, or creative functions.

Industry experience in gaming, media, or digital content is required.

Deep understanding of the financial lifecycle of content production, including capitalization, amortization, and revenue recognition.

Strong financial modeling skills with a background in forecasting, variance analysis, and scenario planning.

Experience supporting project-based, creative, or IP-driven businesses.

Advanced Excel proficiency; familiarity with ERP and FP&A systems.

Excellent communication skills and ability to distill complex financial concepts for creative and executive audiences.
