Director, Business Development - Western Region
Based in Los Angeles, CA, remote role with travel required. A fast-growing, sustainability-driven materials company seeks a Director of Business Development to lead the market expansion of a next-generation fire-rated wood product. The role focuses on growing adoption across Southern California and the broader West Coast, particularly in wildfire-prone regions.

Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrated success in business development or sales within the decking, railing, and fencing sectors.
- Strong understanding of distribution channels, including lumberyards, contractors, and regional suppliers .
- Ability to navigate both specified and non-specified product markets.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with architects, specifiers, and trade professionals.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for innovative fire-rated wood products.
- Build relationships with architects, developers, contractors, municipalities, and other key stakeholders.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to deal closure for both commercial and residential projects.
- Represent the product at industry events and with regulatory bodies to position it as a leader in wildfire-resilient solutions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, and operations teams to support client success and product development.
- Track industry trends and regulations to identify and capitalize on new market opportunities.
- Prioritize Southern California while supporting broader West Coast expansion.
Skills & Experience
8+ years in business development, sales, or market expansion—preferably in building materials or construction.Bachelor’s degree required; background in business, marketing, architecture, or construction preferred (MBA a plus).Experience introducing innovative or sustainable products into new or competitive markets.Familiarity with fire-rated or wildfire-resilient building materials is highly desirable.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with executive-level stakeholders.Proficient with CRM tools (HubSpot preferred).Willingness to travel within CA and the broader West Coast.Passion for sustainability and resilient building practices.Competitive base salary : $100K–$120K, based on experience.Performance-based bonuses and incentives.Opportunity to help scale a category-defining product with significant environmental and social impact.Mission-driven, collaborative work environment with strong growth potential.#J-18808-Ljbffr
