Overview
The Center for Postconcussion Syndrome and PTSD Treatment is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and highly organized California-licensed, board-certified or board-eligible, and treatment / rehabilitation-focused clinical neuropsychologist to meet the growing demands of the practice. Completion of a formal postdoctoral fellowship / residency in clinical neuropsychology or rehabilitation psychology is required. The candidate should have a working knowledge of, and willingness to work with, diverse clinical populations in a large urban setting. We provide clinic-based, multi-site, teleneurohealth and neuropsychological evaluations of adults and adolescents. The ability to work confidentially with high-profile defense and plaintiff law firms, as well as elite sports partners, including the NFL and NBA, is essential. Demonstrated skill in collaborating among multi-functional staff and in assessing, developing, and supporting staffing needs and plans is essential. Nexus Clinical Solutions LLC is an outpatient and telemedicine program focusing on evaluation and intervention of individuals (adolescents, young adults, military, and geriatric populations) with a wide range of brain disorders and rehabilitation needs; consultation is provided to NFL, NBA, amateur / youth and other professional sports organizations, school systems, medical providers, vocational rehabilitation centers, case managers, and a variety of law firms.
Responsibilities
- Interviewing patients to obtain comprehensive medical histories. Write or prepare detailed clinical neuropsychological reports using data from psychological or neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct observations, or clinical interviews.
- Provide cognitive rehabilitation, neurofeedback, psychotherapy, behavior therapy, or other interventions to patients with neurological or associated disorders.
- Provide education or counseling to individuals and families.
- Participate in educational programs, in-service training, or workshops to remain current in methods and techniques.
- Read current literature and participate in professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in neuropsychology.
- Perform both direct clinical services, and supervise / train neuropsychology postdoctoral fellows and externs. The ability to supervise staff neuropsychologists is preferred.
- Documenting / recording information, entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic / magnetic form.
- Processing information, compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.
Qualifications
California licensed, board-certified or board-eligible, treatment / rehabilitation focused clinical neuropsychologist.Completion of a formal postdoctoral fellowship / residency in clinical neuropsychology or rehabilitation psychology.Working knowledge and willingness to work with diverse clinical populations in a large urban setting.Experience with clinic-based, multi-site, teleneurohealth and neuropsychological evaluations of adults and adolescents.Ability to work confidentially with high-profile defense and plaintiff law firms, and with elite sports partners (e.g., NFL and NBA).Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multi-function staff and support staffing needs and plans.Ability to write patient reports and other correspondence that are clear, concise, logical, and appropriate for a variety of audiences.Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required.Ability to manage a multi-site clinical operation and supervise other neuropsychologists, postdoctoral fellows, and externs.Experience in direct neurobehavioral clinical services across neurological conditions (including closed and penetrating head injuries, neurodegenerative conditions, acute and chronic pain, cerebrovascular disorders, epilepsy, substance use disorders, and select neuropsychiatric conditions).Strong report writing and communication skills with referral sources, patients, and managed care contacts.Benefits
