Job Title : Hospital Staff Accountant

Summary

The Hospital Staff Accountant plays a key role within the Finance team, providing accounting and revenue validation support. Responsibilities include ensuring the timely and accurate completion of monthly accounting close processes, preparing and reconciling balance sheets and revenue files, and supporting the annual audit process. The role also involves reviewing, reconciling, and analyzing financial data to maintain the integrity of reported information.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cash management duties, including updating cash flows, uploading, and decisioning Positive Pay.
  • Complete monthly accounting close procedures, including preparing bank reconciliations, month-end journal entries, payment imports, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain and update balance sheet schedules.
  • Compile deposit supporting documents, prepare summaries for the Financial Analyst, and assign G / L codes for posting.
  • Process Capitation Revenue Files and other cash receipts, assigning G / L codes for posting.
  • Conduct data validation across multiple platforms, including Claims Detail, Power BI, bank activities, and high-cost items in EZ Cap.
  • Generate and compile various monthly Claims Payments and Claims Payable reports.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of schedules and documentation for audits.
  • Support Analysts by performing additional tasks and preparing ad-hoc reports as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in Physician Organization, Hospital Finance, or Health Plan preferred.
  • Experience with accounting close procedures and GL reconciliation; strong analytical skills and knowledge of finance concepts and financial statement analysis.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access, and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Knowledge of MAS200, EZ-Cap is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team; quick learner of new concepts.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with relevant laws and policies.
  • Salary

    The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000, depending on experience.
