We’re seeking a Creative Director with a sharp focus on social media to lead the artistic and strategic direction of AnimeOshi’s digital presence. This role centers on crafting engaging, trend-driven content to captivate Gen Z anime fans worldwide, leveraging platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter to build a thriving community.

Kasagi Labo is acquiring anime IPs and building an AI-powered social platform that connects fans and creators more effectively than traditional methods, automating and enhancing interactions like fan engagement and content creation, and proving so innovative that it’s fostering a global community and redefining anime fandom. We’ve raised one of the largest seed rounds in Southeast Asia totaling US$20M to build out our vision. The team is small because we can’t hire great people as fast as the company is growing.

The Role

The Creative Director (Social Media) will spearhead AnimeOshi’s social media strategy, guiding a team of content creators and designers to produce platform-specific, anime-inspired content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a cohesive social media creative vision for AnimeOshi, tailored to platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter, to engage Gen Z fans.
  • Lead and mentor a creative team (in-house & outsourced) focused on social media content, including video editors, graphic designers, and copywriters.
  • Design and oversee the creation of social media assets including short-form videos, reflecting anime aesthetics, current trends and our app
  • Boldly experiment with AI and outrageously compelling social media narratives to craft exciting campaigns that enhance fan loyalty and encourage user-generated content.
  • Stay ahead of Gen Z social media trends, integrating features like live streams, challenges, and interactive content.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in creative direction, with at least some experience specializing in social media for anime, gaming, or Gen Z-targeted entertainment.
  • Proven track record leading social media teams and delivering successful campaigns.
  • Deep passion for anime culture and a strong grasp of social media dynamics.
  • Experience with short-form video editing and trending formats (e.g., TikTok trends).
  • Familiarity with AI tools or Web3 applications in social media is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of Gen Z behavior and social media trends.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to platform algorithm changes and fan preferences.
