Our client is seeking a Controller to join its close-knit and collaborative team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a mission-driven environment where professional growth, team culture, and meaningful impact are top priorities.

About the Role :

The Controller will be responsible for financial reporting across a diverse portfolio of over 80 entities. This includes coordinating with third-party property managers, managing internal reporting, and supporting leadership with strategic financial insights. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in real estate or property management accounting.

Key Responsibilities :

• Review monthly property financials from third-party property managers
• Manage financial reporting and period-end close for multiple entities
• Maintain depreciation schedules, preferred return tracking, and intercompany reconciliations
• Process payroll, journal entries, 1099s, and entity filings
• Support audit processes and respond to lender requests
• Track property tax deadlines and manage escrow draw submissions
• Contribute to annual budgeting and budget-to-actual reporting
• Ensure consistent accounting policies and compliance across the organization
