Overview
Our client develops and manufactures certified instruments, avionics and power solutions for the global aerospace industry and is a nationwide leader in the design and manufacture of advanced lithium-ion aircraft batteries, USB chargers, inverters and converters. We are looking for a skilled and driven Power Electronics Design Engineer .
Location : Permanent Resident (Greencard holder) or US Citizen to qualify.
As a Power Electronics Design Engineer , you will develop electrical power conversion products for aircraft critical systems and cabin applications. You will experience the entire product lifecycle, from concept and requirements through design, implementation, testing and certification and field application. You should be familiar with DC-to-AC inverters, DC-to-DC converters, AC-to-DC converters, AC-AC converters, power regulation for battery systems, power distribution and control. Expect opportunities ranging from 10W to 600W+ capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Create schematics and direct PCB layout using PADs
- Research new components, technologies, and methods to incorporate into new designs
- Coordinate with other functional teams, including layout, mechanical, software, and certification engineers
- Build and troubleshoot hardware, including soldering, operation of test equipment, and daily work in both office and test lab environments
- Design and execute test procedures to verify compliance with applicable performance, regulatory, and quality requirements
- Design and integrate manufacturing tools as needed for new products
- Create and document designs in required formats, including BOMs, ECOs, and work instructions
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering5+ years of experience designing power conversion productsProficiency in designing and troubleshooting analog circuits and switch-mode power electronicsExperience with PADS or similar schematic capture , and PCB layout software , and PSpice or LTSpice simulation toolsSome background in magnetics including power transformers and filtersProficient with Microsoft Office productsWork well in a team environmentStrong attention to detailOrganized, focused and results-orientedSolid troubleshooting ability with critical thinking and prioritizing skillsGood verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsExperience designing to environmental requirements such as RTCA DO-160 or similar aerospace, military, or commercial standards is not required, but beneficialCompensation
Salary compensation up to $160k .
