Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Principal Process Engineer to join our growing team in Lima, Peru. Reporting to the Manager of Process - Americas, the Principal Process Engineer will be responsible for delivering accurate, professional and compliant process study and design deliverables using Company approved systems and procedures to agreed schedules.
Responsibilities
- Prepare process deliverables including mass balances, flowsheets, P&IDs, design criteria, operating costs and control philosophy.
- Plan, cost and execute metallurgical testwork programmes on behalf of clients.
- Interpret metallurgical testwork data and produce a concise testwork report summarising testwork outcomes and outlining the developed process flowsheet and design criteria.
- Notify relevant stakeholders immediately of any risk or changes to process deliverables.
- Evaluate tenders and provide technical recommendations for the purchase of process equipment from vendors during studies and design.
- Assist with peer review of process deliverables as requested by the Process Manager.
- Maintain awareness of latest process developments and share with the process team.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project design criteria and deliverables.
- Mentor junior process engineers and provide feedback for professional development.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aligned with business priorities.
- Register and file all relevant process documentation according to Company procedures.
- Support other team members to ensure study and project deliverables are of high standard and delivered timely.
- Participate in commissioning of process plants as required in locations where Lycopodium operates.
- Join an accredited professional institution (e.g. PEO Canada) and engage in meetings / conferences when possible to further career development.
- Maintain a professional database of process information to aid ongoing development and assist the process team.
- Travel on an ad-hoc basis to meet business needs.
- Assist with the development of proposals for testwork, studies and detailed engineering.
Qualifications
University Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualification.5+ years experience in mineral processing operations.5+ years engineering experience.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
