Overview
Senior Accounting Analyst - Colombia
We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Accounting and Tax Analyst to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. The position requires a solid background in accounting, particularly in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), as well as a deep understanding of tax cycles and local compliance and reporting.
Responsibilities
General Accounting :
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Control GBS performance and follow up on R2R KPIs
- Provide BS and P&L variance analysis. Timely identify, reconcile, and resolve discrepancies
- Assist the GBS in clearing unreconciled bank lines and preparation of bank reconciliations
- Produce input for local requirements (Tax, payroll…) to be posted by GBS
- Review and recommend quarterly sing-off of financial statements
- Analize the consolidation package (MGA) and intercompany reports, alerting deviations
- Reconcile and control petty cash
- Validate the application of WHT in corporate invoices, and approve invoice booking
Financial Reporting and Analysis :
Prepare reporting local related requirementsReview of other reports prepared by GBSPerform monthly analytical review of BS and P<ax Compliance :
Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns.Stay updated on changes in local tax regulations and implement necessary adjustments.Work closely with tax advisors and external auditors during tax preparation and audits.Internal Controls and Audit Management :
Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure compliance with established policies. Prepare the Internal control questionnaire with GL ManagerCoordinate with external auditors during audits to ensure a smooth and efficient process.Facilitate internal audits and implement recommendations for process improvements.Budgeting and Forecasting :
Contribute to the development of annual budgets and forecasts.Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets and provide recommendations.Competences :
Analytical + Problem solving skills : Ability to gather, analyze and develop solutions from diverse information skillfully and solve complex financial problems, dealing with multiple stakeholders.Leadership : Proficient at working autonomously and producing complete, high quality and timely outcomes. Ability to communicate effectively and gain alignment with the different stakeholders.Functional Expertise : Thorough understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, tax compliance and financial analysis / reporting.Requirements for Applying :
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, mandatory. Tax specialization is a plus.4-5 years of progressive experience in similar accounting roles.Upper-intermediate (CEFR, B1-B2 level) communication skills in English, both written and spoken.Details
