ABOUT OUR CLIENT :

Our client is a leading media and content organization headquartered in Los Angeles. The company produces and distributes content across multiple platforms and is known for delivering compelling experiences to broad audiences.

We are seeking a strategic, self-starting FP&A Operations Consultant with deep experience in both production and development finance. This individual will play a critical interim role supporting financial planning and operations across multiple studio divisions. The consultant will manage complex pacing, budgeting, and forecasting responsibilities while serving as a liaison among finance, business affairs, creative, and legal teams. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-moving, multi-stakeholder environments, and brings both analytical rigor and strong interpersonal skills to the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

FP&A and Operational Finance Support

  • Lead monthly and quarterly development pacing submissions, inclusive of recoupments and over 100 active deals.
  • Track actuals, forecast development and script spend; support long-range planning across multiple production units.
  • Support scenario modeling for renewals, talent guarantees, and kicker provisions; analyze financial impact through to cash flow and margin.
  • Produce and support executive-facing monthly reporting decks used by senior creative and operational leadership.

Close, Reporting, and Systems Coordination

  • Coordinate monthly and quarterly close activities with controllership, including journal entries, accruals, recoupments, and transfers.
  • Manage the development commitments tracker; ensure alignment with data from creative and business affairs.
  • Oversee compliance and audit readiness for all AP-related transactions including script payments, step deals, and rights acquisitions.
  • Talent Deal & Development Spend Oversight

  • Oversee financial tracking for 100+ talent deals across domestic and international studios.
  • Maintain and manage development spending, script budgets, assistant allocations, and recoupment tracking.
  • Partner with development leaders and teams to coordinate on script status, greenlights, and production transfers.
  • Act as a conduit between finance and business affairs to ensure accurate approvals, and deal term tracking.
  • Supervise and guide two hybrid team members (FP&A / payroll split roles).
  • Liaise with business affairs, legal, creative, and internal production finance to ensure cohesive execution of deal terms.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline existing pacing systems and manual workflows using financial software and AI tools.
  • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years recent experience in development and production finance / FP&A for scripted content; 10+ years total finance experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, pacing, payroll coordination, and development finance workflows.
  • Experience managing or coordinating talent deal structures and working closely with business affairs and legal.
  • Able to manage ambiguity, prioritize tasks with multiple stakeholders, and communicate effectively across business units.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with an analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to connect financial and creative dots.
  • Expected start date is early August 2025.

    Hybrid schedule is Tues-Thur in-office, Mon & Fri are remote.
