Overview
Technical Account Manager (Engineering Matcher) at Toptal. This remote role involves working with clients to understand their needs, custom-match them with Engineering experts from our talent network, and provide support during the matching process. This is a remote position. Resumes and communication must be submitted in English.
Responsibilities
- Work with clients to understand their needs, custom-match them with Engineering experts from different specialties within our talent network (Software Development, DevOps, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, among others), and provide support during the matching process, throughout the engagement, and beyond.
- Manage client expectations effectively.
- Write professional, engaging, and accurate job descriptions to attract the best talent for the job.
- Find the right talent to meet client goals.
- Introduce the talent to the client in a way that showcases the talent’s experience, skills, and relevance to the client’s business needs.
- Manage the matching process end-to-end to ensure a positive experience for both the client and talent, including : Confirm that talent meets both skills and experience criteria along with the commitment and timezone constraints.
- Track, understand, and incorporate client and talent feedback to increase the likelihood of success.
- Work collaboratively with other teams to effectively take advantage of opportunities, remove friction in the process, and deal with engagement issues when they arise.
Expectations by Time Period
In the first week : Onboard and integrate into Toptal; learn about history, culture, vision; familiarize with tools, processes, and reporting mechanisms; shadow matching calls.In the first month : Take on your first clients and manage engagements; learn how teams contribute to success; work with Developer talents from our network; become proficient with Toptal’s platform.In the first three months : Be a well-integrated member of the organization; build a mature client portfolio; establish direct connections with top talent.In the first six months : Become eligible to handle major accounts; understand and share best practices with the team.In the first year : Act as a subject matter expert on Development Matching; promote teamwork and collaboration; provide insights to improve the matching lifecycle; participate in onboarding newcomers and helping them learn best practices.Qualifications and Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree is required.3+ years of demonstrated experience successfully working on software development projects (Developer, Project Manager, Architect, DevOps Engineer) or 3+ years of experience successfully recruiting for Developers in tech companies or start-ups.3+ years of demonstrated experience leading and synthesizing remote client sales or consultative interviews, managing international clients, or running your own company is preferred.Experience in scoping and preparing project proposals, with the ability to translate ambiguous business needs into requirements and responsibilities.Effective ability to determine capabilities and deliverables required to solve technical problems.Excellent written and verbal communication, relationship development, and emotional intelligence skills to manage client relationships, including active listening, negotiation, and closing.Strong cross-channel communication skills (phone, Zoom, email, Slack).Ability to build trust and instant rapport with clients and talent.Strong attention to detail, time management, commitment to continuous improvement, and adaptability.Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.Strong strategic thinking and entrepreneurial mindset; self-starter who can execute with limited guidance.Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company and handle a wide variety of challenges and contacts.#J-18808-Ljbffr
