Facilities Manager - MGM Grand Detroit role at MGM Resorts International in Detroit, Michigan. MGM Grand Detroit seeks a skilled Facilities Manager to oversee all operations within the Maintenance / Facilities department. In this pivotal role, you will lead the skilled trades team to ensure activities align with the company’s business objectives, budgetary guidelines, and established safety standards. Your leadership will help maintain efficient facility operations, implement preventative maintenance programs, and ensure a safe and welcoming environment for guests and employees alike.
Responsibilities
- Supervises assigned operational functions within the department to include prioritizing workload to staff, meeting budgetary guidelines, ordering and maintaining stock items, specialty parts, and special project needs.
- Reviews, plans, and coordinates all job assignments, sets work priorities, makes cost-effective assignment decisions, and ensures the completion of projects in a timely, efficient, and effective manner.
- Supervises assigned staff to include hiring recommendations encompassing the company’s diversity commitment; training; coaching; performance feedback; recommending and administering discipline; scheduling.
- Schedules available personnel to effectively maximize efficiency levels, verifies hours worked, and documents / logs all important issues.
- Evaluates employees’ performance and provides consistent feedback, generates and issues commendations to employees that consistently exceed departmental standards.
- Ensures employees are properly trained and follow established safety standards by conducting periodic in-services on equipment, safety issues, policies, and procedures.
- Conducts periodic inspections of all equipment / tools necessary to perform job duties. Assesses the age, condition, and useful life of major tools and equipment to determine purchasing needs for both operational and capital requests.
- Creates a work environment that promotes teamwork, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
- Ensures safety and compliance with Health Department, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies standards, regulations, and codes.
