The Lifecycle team’s vision is to elevate HR practices by integrating technology solutions and enriching customer experiences in over 80+ countries. Your work will influence our compliance coverage, customer journeys, and operational capacity.
The Senior Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations & Transitions independently manages all employee exits for Remote's external employees with a focus on legal compliance, quality, and delivering delightful customer service. The specialist also provides first-level Employee Relations support, guiding clients through workplace concerns and coordinating appropriate resources. You will drive process improvements in line with Remote's strategic goals and values.
What you bring
- Extensive experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with generalist HR competencies across the employee lifecycle.
- Tertiary qualifications in HR / labour relations / employment law considered a plus.
- Proven experience independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits with care, sensitivity and legal compliance; providing comprehensive HR advice across multiple jurisdictions.
- Understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline, and workplace investigation fundamentals.
- Ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments, analyze complex HR issues, and translate research into usable resources and recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders in ambiguous environments.
- Superior communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills; ability to lead difficult conversations with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Business-level English proficiency; additional languages are a plus.
- Aptitude to innovate and optimize processes, including automation and best practices.
- Efficient record-keeping and data integrity awareness.
- Tech-savvy; able to collaborate asynchronously and adapt to new systems.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, remote, international team with flexible hours as needed.
- Proactive, self-motivated, with strong ownership and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and resolve complex end-to-end employee exits for multiple international jurisdictions with minimal supervision, ensuring a superior offboarding experience.Provide guidance on key jurisdictions and manage client requests related to termination, resignation, transfers, contracts, and redundancies with legal compliance and best practices.Lead and facilitate meetings with clients and external employees, including workforce reduction consultations and settlements, providing termination guidance and outcomes.Influence and negotiate positive outcomes in complex terminations, coordinating stakeholders with competing interests.Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance in offboarding activities and audits (payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, trade unions).Draft and administer termination and related documents with accuracy and privacy compliance.Process offboarding in Remote's HRIS, coordinating with Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, Time & Attendance, and others.Act as a first point of informal escalation, mentoring junior team members and guiding on Employee Relations resources.Provide comprehensive guidance on employee relations matters and preliminary assessments of workplace concerns, including applicable regulations and potential paths forward.Serve as a trusted resource for internal and external stakeholders on employee relations, ensuring appropriate handling of complex cases.Advise on progressive disciplinary approaches, documentation requirements, and best practices for difficult situations.Track and monitor ongoing employee relations cases with timely follow-up and coordination.Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and product development to enhance offboarding and employee relations experiences.Determine methods and standards for new assignments, evaluating techniques to achieve results aligned with Lifecycle and Remote needs.Practicals

Remote’s Total Rewards philosophy ensures fair, unbiased compensation and competitive benefits. We pay above in-location rates and support global talent-hiring across locations. Salary bands are geo-based to reflect geographic pay differentials. The base salary range for this full-time position is $41,900 to $94,300 USD. Actual pay depends on location, skills, experience, and market demands. Compensation changes on internal moves are reviewed case-by-case.
