About this Role

IDB Invest seeks a highly qualified Head of Agribusiness and Forestry to join its Corporates Division. This role will report to the Managing Director and will focus on the entire agribusiness and forestry value chains. The position demands leadership in designing and executing investment programs that align with institutional priorities and developing new business opportunities. As part of the role, you will engage with clients and partners to originate transactions with high developmental impact, ensuring they align with industry best practices. The successful candidate will be adept at market research, investment decision-making, and the development of sector-specific products to enhance value propositions.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead the design and execution of IDB Invest’s agribusiness and forestry strategy and investment program.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with leading global and regional corporate clients.
• Collaborate closely with regional investment teams to provide expert sector insights during due diligence processes.
• Lead sectoral engagement with IDB public sector teams and others to support governments in regulatory matters.
• Conduct industry and market research to support business origination and execution.
• Serve on boards of equity investments within the portfolio if needed.
• Lead coordination with development partners to address sector-specific challenges.
• Support development of IDBG Country Strategies and multi-year Business Plans.
• Represent IDB Invest at conferences and similar events to increase visibility.
