About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This role is responsible for maintaining the general ledger for a portfolio of single-tenant properties, preparing accurate financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annual), and processing investor distributions. The Staff Accountant will also collaborate closely with property managers on budgets and support various accounting projects throughout the year. Base pay range
$55,000.00 / yr - $65,000.00 / yr
Responsibilities
- Investor Relations & Distributions – Calculate and process monthly investor distributions, onboard new investors, and maintain accurate distribution records.
- Financial Reporting – Prepare and present timely monthly financial statements for assigned properties; review, analyze, and finalize third-party financial reports; and ensure accuracy of in-house reporting.
- Accounting Operations – Record monthly journal entries ( accrual and cash basis ), reconcile bank accounts, and maintain detailed schedules and balance sheet workpapers.
- Budgeting & Analysis – Collaborate with property managers to prepare and review budgets, assist with tax package preparation, and support CAM estimates and reconciliations.
- Compliance & Controls – Follow established accounting processes and internal controls to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Special Projects – Contribute to ad-hoc initiatives assigned by management, such as reconciliations, financial analyses, and reporting enhancements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)2+ years of accounting experience; real estate accounting experience preferredExperience with Yardi strongly preferredIntermediate to advanced Excel skillsCPA certification is a plus but not requiredStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple prioritiesWhy Join Us?
